Maracas Mexican Grill & Bar, located at 325 South Riverside Avenue, opened its doors on April 15 in the space formerly occupied by Umami Cafe. Serving an authentic array of Mexican and American fare, Maracas offers lunch and dinner options for guests craving a traditional experience.
On the menu, you’ll find classic cuisine options like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, fajitas, empanadas, taquitos and more. But you’ll also find plenty of feel-good American offerings like burgers, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, fries and more. Meat options include marinated pork, grilled steak, chicken, chorizo, shrimp and other seafood.
Of course, you’ll also be able to choose from savory sides like rice and beans, onion rings, Mexican street corn, plantains, sweet potato fries and more.
Maracas Mexican Grill & Bar is still in its early stages after opening, but it’s already earned several positive reviews on Yelp:
“My girlfriend and I had a very nice time here the other night. The staff was super friendly and the place had a classic Mexican restaurant feel…The food was delicious and came out quickly. They do provide complimentary chips and salsa which were very tasty…I'll be back for sure,” wrote Tom O. in an April 26 Yelp review.
Maracas Mexican Grill & Bar is open Tuesday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, visit the website.
